Why is Renji wearing the white bandana?

Why is he wearing the white bandana, hiding his purdy tattoos? *sniff* Is there a reason? And, does his tattoos mean anything? I've kinda seen it as if his tattoos are like... ranks or something since they seem to have become more and more during his time in SS, training and climbing in knowledge and rank in there?

y is this in the spoilers section...this would be more appropriate in the bleach characters section...i bet there is a renji one...but u can prolly make one asking y renji wears that bandana...maybe its just his style of clothing...idk prolly just the way the writers saw him so they draw him with it all the time...

Probably most likely symbols of personal goals reached. In other words they most likely only mean something to Renji himself. And yeah... they are uber hot.  And yeah... this could probably go to the Characters forum. I think it's all speculation.. but fun!

Renji is one of the most unusual characters in Bleach in terms of his appearance, long crimson hair, usually kept in a high ponytail, and his entire upper body is covered in tribal tattoo work. How he got these tattoos is unknown, but it appears that with every achievement Renji attains, his tattoos increase as well, starting from his early days as a shinigami candidate until when he was imprisoned by Byakuya Kuchiki (his tattoos cover his entire back at this point of time). He dresses in the standard shinigami outfit, though he usually includes some sort of elaborate headgear (usually expensive-looking glasses or a white headband). All of Renji's sunglasses are from Seireitei's popular "Silver Dragonfly Glasses Store" and cost half a year's worth of his paycheck. Unfortunately, every time he wears a pair, they are broken in one way or another (usually in a fight with Ichigo).

I find it funny that he would spend so much of glasses you must be starving after lossing 1 years worth of pay(2 pairs) fighting Ichigo

And, it really IS interesting with this Renji - tattoo thing! I can just hope that the story with it will unfold eventually in the storyline And it does sound veeerry interesting with that Byakuya thing too ^^ mmm.... *ponders*

btw, is there anyone else but me that wants to see Renji french kiss Ichigo? *grins* And... after that Byakuya imprisoning thing... may be french kissed against a wall (half unwillingly lol) by Byakuya? :p

Thank you! Took me about an hour (wouldn't have taken so long if I hadn't had to patch small pieces of sitting Renji into one >< the angle was sweeping from bottom to top so I had to take screen shots and patch them together to get him entirely lol) I'm quite happy with it for once (which does not happen often) ^^

Renji's tatoos? Why do normal people have em? That's probably the same answer for why Renji has em, but it would be interesting if the writers added some significance to them, like, maybe they're a result of a kidou curse, and because he has them that's the reason why he sucks at kidou. That would definitely be interesting.

Interesting... no really... i mean, his tattoos increase as he gets more acheivements, i wonder what'd happen once he, Surpasses Byakuya, becomes a captain, attains his Bankai's mastery? thats alotta tattoos

Well, there's no fun in thinking "he has them cuz he wants to" .. I think I read somewhere that they're milestones, achievements and goals reached. And the fact that Zabimaru has similar tattoos, he chose that type of pattern on himself to match his Bankai. Mmh.. come to think of it, his tattoos didn't really start before he came to SS and started the training to become a Shinigami. When he got embarrassed in school for wanting to write on the black board, he didn't have them and he was a refreshment then ^^

I'd LOVE to see Byakuya and Renji fight about who's strongest hehe but I think Renji needs to reach another level of Bankai or something for that heh... Mmh... wonder how many tattoos he'll have by then! lol And IF he does manage to kick Byakuya's ass... will he tattoo "Byakya suck my..." somewhere or.. what? lol mmmh... Or, he may tattoo Byakyya with "Renji was here" over the last blow that made him fail *lol*

Man... I can't wait 'til the 20th to watch ep 161! *sigh* the agony! lol

well they might go back to renji but it cant really be predicted since they didnt re-introduce any of the fights like they did for rukia b4 she owned the espada...

altho they might have someone find chad or someone else might start a new battle...idk...
