Kurosaki Isshin (くろさき いっしん)?

So, between reading the manga some while waiting for the continuation of the main story again in the anime, a thought struck me.

I've been very curious to the story behind Urahara, Yoruichi, Isshin, and the visard (which inspired me to read the manga), and I started to think that Kurosaki Isshin may have been the previous 11th squad captain (before Kenpachi challenged him) and he either threw the fight to live with Ichigo's mother, or was honestly defeated and still went to the living world to live with Ichigo's mother.  And to further the story of him "dying" to Kenpachi, he got a gigai from Urahara that sealed his Reiatsu (similar to the one given to Rukia).

After 20 years though the gigai starts to lose it's sealing capacities on him and thus the comment from Urahara about him getting some of his power back.

Thoughts?  This section of the story (or currently hole in background/plot) really intrigues me.

k..[utin it out there... that is an ok developement but wut most here believe it to be is that isshin is the cpt that retired and gave urahara the opening...and the the thing of the gigai is prolly rite...

when I get home I will re-read the coversation between Hat an Clogs and Isshin
but I think what he says is that after beinging in the gigai that his powers were alot lower.
If you look throug some of the old Ichigos dad topics you can find 2-3 of theorys about him and a few others as well.

If it's an accepted theory that he was the captain that left to make room for Kisuke then what of the whole thing of being a girl and squad zero? That theory makes no sense to me, yet anyways. The whole thing about being the old 11th squad captain could be true but I'm not sure, definitely more plausible then the other one.

Being the one that moved out for kisuke? Urahara comes in and they all don't mention the old captain's name. And I think that a lot of the vizards were in favor of ichigo's training.

why it does not work- The captin before Urahara was trasfurred to squad 0 and HER name was Kirio Hikifune

Theory two- Isshin was the captin of 11th divison before Kenpachi
why it does not work- Kenpachi killed the previous captin of squad 11 in front of 200 witnesses. the Problems with Urahara helping Isshin fake his own death and hide in the human world- Kenpachi was made Captin when Urahara was still 3rd seat of squad 2, another problem was that that was over 100 years ago, and Ishhin has only in the human world for 20 years (chapter 188 page 5 or 6) "How does it feel to be a soul reaper again after 20 years(Urahara to Isshin)"

When on the timeline does Hitsuguya become a captain? I was under the impression that he is a relatively new captain (because he gets all the runt jobs like having to go to the real world) and also, I dont recall him being mentioned at all int he pendulum series. Could Isshin have been replaced by him?

Theory 2:

There is an accounted squad, sqaud 0. Maybe Isshin played a part not seated in any particular accounted squad, but was the captain of it?

you first theory witch I will hace to call theory 3 plays into one of my favorite Ishhin theorys (witch we can call theory 5)

That Isshin was Captin of Squad 10 around 20 years before the story started, on a mission to the living world he fell in love with Masaki
who either saw him in a gigia or she could see Sprits and told him he looked cool when he smoked. Isshin as a captin knows that the traitor Urahara lives nearby goes to him get specil Gigia and starts a family.

As I said this is my favorite theory, my real proplem with it is that although there is no evidance againt it there is also no evidence for it

the other theory that you posted (theory 4?)
is another one with no evadence one way or the other, but It does lead to the potentioaly cool Idea that Masaki was an allies for Kirio Hikifune
