at one time isshin was a captain, we see this in the second episode which the grand fisher appears. the grand fisher apears and goes after ichigo, but its actually kon in his body. isshin appears and hes doning a captains robe, we dont see what symbol the robe has on it. and in the battle isshin explains that he doesnt need the full power of a captain to defeat him.

he's in karakua town acting normally like he did b4 ichigo got his powers and while he had his powers. he hasnt done anything since then

In the turn back the pendlum we have not seen Isshin yet and thaat got me thinking abolut him again
Pure Speculation
We do not know why Isshin left SS we just know that Kisuke helped him. Isshin does not seem to have been in the humen world as long as the others, around 20 years, I think it works out good at least for this newest theory. What if the reason Isshin left SS was because he fell in love with a Human. We do not Know much about Masaki Kurosaki, just that she was an amzing women and that she only said one nice thing to her husband, when they first met, that he looked cool when he smoked. So Im thinkin Ishhin on a mission to the living world, sitting in a gigai enjoy some human finery and he fell in love with the beautiful women that walked up and said he was cool, when his time in the living world ran out, he did not want to say goodbye so he went to know Criminal Kisuke for help.

well i think that she had some powers since ichigo had gone down to the girl and she knew right away that he was in danger. at that time she must have had the ability to see ghosts and so she saw grand fisher.

I Think she was just a regular human, the reason she was worried about Ichigo was the high river waters from the rain. It was a flood. Of corse we just do not know that much about her at all. That is the problem.
