I hope he gets a bigger part sometime in the future. Who knows, maybe he'll find a way to break out of ichigo's person and form his own entity =P(I seriously doubt that, but hey, it'd make a good story arc)

I think he would become a vasto lord for the simple fact his hollow has proven it has more control of the powers it posses and has moved further in power than ichigo. It has always been more powerful than him til his inner battle. If he had lost his hollow side would have forced ichigo to become so powerful so quickly that he would have far upon surpassed most espada. On top of that Ichigo's gets stronger the more he fights. His hollow would only want to fight and consume its power would have no end especially since i believe it would have defeated those viazards that were fighting his outer self.
