mmhmm. there r aliens that might fall under diclonus except they are more monster like. much gore. some nudity(wow this is SO like elfen lied) but the ending sucks...kinda like death note or something  |

WARNING: While this is a very good anime it is not as similar to Elfen Lied as you would think.
Don't get me wrong this is a sweet anime but the style, story and episode set up is very different.
The story of the anime is about strangers who happen to die on the same day around the same time, that are then transported to an empty apartment room with a giant black sphere in it. The Giant ball (Gantz) forces them to play a game to kill aliens which scores them points for each alien killed and the method used to kill them. Very different from Elfen Lied.
The episode style is in a DVD format meaning each episode through a certain arc is meant to be watched one right after the other, which you can easily guess by some fights lasting for 4-6 episodes. Once again very different from Elfen Lied.
Also Elfen lied has a lot of really CUTE girls in it while Gantz has a lot of HOT girls in it. About the same amount of boob shots with and additional (mild) sex scene in Gantz.
The story does not end like the manga (since the manga is still currently going) but the manga is very good and I would recommend if you had to choose one or the other go with the manga.
This is in no way shooting you down Urusai just wanted to clarify the situation
