I've been looking, but haven't seen any threads about Eureka Seven so I'm starting one up if anyone wants to see or has seen this anime.
Firstly, it is a fantastic show. Over the course of the show's fifty episodes you get deeply developed characters, and an engaging plot. It would be hard to explain the plot or setup of the show greatly enough to do it justice so if you're curious look it up. I'll just say a couple things I like about the show.
The show takes place 10 thousand years in the future when Humans have resettled on another planet. It follows the crew of a renegade ship called Gekko-Go flying all over the world, manned by reffers (people who can use ref boards to surf on air) and their adventures while piloting their mecha. I like how the show establishes a whole sub-culture of reffers and puts it up against the authority of the military who's plots are more devious than they first appear.
The show also develops the relationships of the members of Gekko-go magnificently, including the protagonists Renton and Eureka.
I certainly recommend this show to anyone who enjoys shows with a sense of adventure. It also puts a spin on mechas that different from most other mecha shows.
