Byakuya and Espada No. 8 really seem to have fun  arguing who is more arrogant than the other...

Yeah, No8 got taken out quick. The brevity with which Byakuya dispatched him makes me think that the adjuchas hollows are pretty weak, and when exposed to the hokyouku to gain shinigami powers, they do become more powerful than a captain, but not much. Weak hollow + weak shinigami = mediocre aranncar. Ichigo however is a very strong deathgod, so when he gained hollow powers he became quite formidable. I think Grimmjow was probably stronger than Aizen gave him credit for. The vasto lorde hollws will be a different story...

Seated officers = menos grande-adjuntas
Captain = Vasto Lorde
Arrancar or Vizard is like a x2
However, Seated officers x 2 =/= Captain
              Adjuntas x 2 =/= Vasto Lorde
              Seated officers x 2 =/= Vasto Lorde
              Adjuntas x 2 =/= Captain
 Ichigo wouldn't have beaten Byakuya without the hollow taking over so he is the lower range of captain class. If Byakuya is stronger than Ichigo when they are both shinigami, he would be stronger if they were both vizards. That means that ichigo can't (yet) beat the top espada. If Ichigo is Captain level it is only barely (or was only barely) makes sense that he can't hang with 4-1.

Yeah it always seems though that once Ichigo gets the living crap beaten out of him and then fully healed, he comes back even stronger.

Also, is it just the top 3 espada that are Vasto Lorde class or the top 4?

I really don't think that 2 seated Shinigami officers could even come close to beating a Vasto Lorde Espada even if they were both Vice Captains.  Shoot I don't think most of the captains could beat a Vasto Lorde class Espada.  I'd say for certain 3 maybe 4 not counting the Captain Commander.  Kenpachi is that maybe 4th because he can take a crap load of damage and keep trucking SPOILER! and he also made killing Espada #5 look easy. SPOILER!

Its the top 4, Ulqiuorra is a vast lorde and he is #4, and as far as we know no one except aizen is capable of defeating vasto-lorde class espada, maybe Yamamoto or Ichigo, but we cant know for sure...

I love Byakuya's fight. He's an arrogant bastard but almost lovable.

In Ichigo's defense he tried to take on Byakuya's bankai with his shinkai, and was wounded significantly in the process. By the time Ichigo went Bankai against Byakuya his body was already getting tired from his earlier injuries, and thus he went hollow/vizard. If Ichigo had activated his bankai earlier in the battle then his transformation beyond that might not have been necessary, but we'll never know.

As far as the Espada go I agree that Ichigo isn't powerful enough to take on any of the top four yet (its questionable how many of the SS captains would be able to either). We know Hitsugaya said if Aizen had ten Vastro Lords that SS was in big trouble. That suggests that when it comes to captains vs the top 4 Espada: that only 9-10 of the captains maybe powerful enough at the current time to face a Vastro lord one-on-one, and that 3-4 of the captains maybe too weak to fight them successfully.

It bugs me a bit that they spent a good deal of time pushing the development (training) and significance (rarity) of Ichigo's banaki and vizard transformations, and then made it appear relatively weak and insignificant against most of the opponents he has gone up against in HM (granted he's been going up against 6, 5, and 4 not 8, 9, and 10). The only time they showed him significantly dominate someone was at the end of the Grimmjow battle (with both transformations active). If, and when, they show the next big "special" ability that's supposed to turn the tide how are we supposed to get excited about it after seeing what they did to the significance and power of the last two so called advancements?

It's about the new movie that will be coming out soon. I don't remember the date but they say it in the movie. Don't expect to see it here soon though, as the date shown is the theatre release date and we get the movie up as soon as Dattebayo subs it which is after it comes out on DVD.

Thats true, they went on and on about how Ichigos speed was so intense while in bankai; but compared to even the top 7 espada make Ichigos speed seem not that impressive.He just tears away with his getsuga, and gets the crap kicked out of him, the writer have been kinda hating on Ichigo...
