yeah iv noticed that latley his mask is gettin lazily drawn. but also since he got his mask the red lines have grown from just below his eye to all the way down

IMO It is far more likely that it signifies his inner hollow consuming him. The more he relies on his vizard form, the more and more you will see his mask evolve until it consumes him.
Just a presumption.
