"Kaze no Kizu"

« on: June 12, 2008, 02:06:20 AM »

I've recently started watching this anime and i really like it.  i've finished watching the first season, and the second season is on episode 9 right now.  I strongly suggest it, its an anime with more of an adult feel to it and its not afraid to kill people off and such.  Here's the wiki on it:

On August 10, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their new robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. In the aftermath of Britannia's invasion, Japan lost its freedom, its rights, and even its name, becoming Area 11 of the Britannian Empire. The Japanese people, renamed as "Elevens", were forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians lived in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persisted, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations who struggled against the Empire for the independence of Japan.

After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, didn't prevent the assassination of his mother, an attack which also left his sister blind and crippled, the young prince Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later, living in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.

I strongly suggest this anime to everyone.  You can watch it at http://watchanimenow.com/video/category/code-geass-lelouch-of-the-rebellion/

I like the story and whatnot. But for some odd reason something about the animation bugs me. :\ Not enough for me to skip it... but I just can't pinpoint it. It's not to far in yet though I think. I hope not anyway... I'm finding the characters kinda flat. Hopefully with time they become more developed and I attach to them more.

Anyway, I'll keep watching it. Wink We'll see where it goes.

Just finished Ep 10... so it's still early yet. Most of the time I will with hold an opinion until I am about done with a series. But I figured I'd post a tentative opinion here. On that note though if I hate one I stop watching long before it hits ep 10. LOL I think I only made it through 2 or 3 eps of Virus Buster Surge before I wanted to hurl.  :buck2:

I really like the story.. so I'll stick with it.

yeah,  you definitely need to watch more I think it's one of the greatest animes I've ever seen.  I believe it's on par with Death Note.  The story is great and the characters become extremely well developed.

OK Ep 11 was pretty good. I'm starting to attach to the character Suzaku Kururugi. Which is odd as typically I relate better to someone like Kallen.

Still early though. I have a feeling new characters will be popping up soon. Well.. maybe not "new" but becoming more prominent. This is one of those Animes that one really has to give at least 10 eps before giving up on. I can see where some won't like it... it does take some getting used to in the animation department if you are used to another style. But it has/is growing on me.
