I know this is an old thread but i just finished Chobits.... I started watching it out of boredom and its an awesome series.
Also, I'm in NO way gay or anything, and ive never gotten "teary eyed" over ANY movie or show...... but I will admit it, the last episode made me shed a tear (Even though Chii was just a robot/computer, it was sad)

Phaw! You guys are missing the ultimate point of Chii....yes, she was an "android" (to be technical, not a robot hehe) but she was designed to be the most human-like android ever...in the end, I never thought of her as a droid but as a human. She had feelings, genuine ones and not programed, she laughed and cried, again not by programming....the only thing that prevented her from being 100% human was her internal parts

yer buuuuuut, i just dont like the idea...of humans falling in love with erm mechanical things..as if them guys dont have already their gadget craze....An android whatever ability it has, either way since chii was a kinda unique one, and if u understand why she got put into the garbage, there is a reason..ima not ganno spoil for people who havent seen it, than i think no use for atificial things.....

Oh I agree with you Deev, just the thought of that happening saddens me, but then again look at the world today. The gaming industry (ie. video games, not casino) is a $8 billion a year industry, making more than the movie industry these days. The average "hardcore gamer" plays more video games in a week than going to school or work...you would be amazed at how many hardcore gamers are out there. People spend more time on the internet than they do hanging out (as in around town, clubs, even in their own living room) with friends or family.


To me, the story line of Chobits doesnt seem like it is that far off from the truth . . . sadly.
