So you think one captin (Ikkaku) could not beat him even with his banki, but another captin (Komamura) can beat him with only his Shiki.

Even though the Gotei 13 are short of captains would they really just promote Ikkaku up, without his consent, just if they saw his bankai?  That seems a little unfair. I can't decide if I like the Gotei as an institution, but rather certain shinigami in it's ranks. Seems corrupt  Undecided

There is more to it then that just having Banki, otherwizr Renji would be a captin, t Renji knows that he does not havewhat it takes, but he asks Ikkaku to take the place of one of the missing captins, meaning that Ikkaku has what it takes to be Captin.

its true its in the fight were renji finaly apposes byakuya...good fight...still thoe renji has come along way since then...
adding to the ikkaku thing he didnt use his bankai in the fight as stated perviously and he prolly wont less he had to since the really wud make him a captain...why cuz who noes how long hes had his bankai for..he has fair enough experience..and SS cud use all the help...
