Kenpachi's zanpakutō has no known name, even to its owner. Kenpachi is the only captain of the Gotei 13 who doesn't know the name of his sword, nor can he use his bankai as a result. Despite not knowing its name, it is constantly released.[4] The sword's appearance is a reflection of Kenpachi's own practice of weakening himself to fight: it is a seemingly worn-down and dull blade with a guard that extends inward from its center. The blade is much longer than that of a standard zanpakutō. Even so, Kenpachi is always seen using his sword with just one hand. It appears that after his fight with Ichigo, Kenpachi wishes to learn more about his zanpakutō because he wants to become stronger and can identify with the pain of not having a name. However, he is not yet capable of communicating with his zanpakutō, and it is implied that he continually tries to learn from his zanpakutō so that he can achieve a new tier of power. Zangetsu notes that Kenpachi's disharmony with his sword causes the two to damage each other's power.

nice effort! btw how do shinigami aquire zanpaktous? do they just appear when they become shinigami, or do they get them from somewhere. Although i know tousens zanpaktou isnt really his, he got it from someone he idolized after they died.

a question for aizen about rukia's zanpaktou. in the anime when she is fighting the espada, she says her zanpaktou has a third release. its when her zanpaktou is broke and she says a third release and the blade reforms with ice. is this a true power of her zanpaktou or did they just put it in the anime?

well i'm thinking she meant that she had a third attack the "san no mai" which was the ice blade that kill aeroniero...

she has 3 attacks that end in "no mai" and those r what ur talking about...

releases would be things like:
for ichigo, the form zangetsu is in all the time is his 1st release(or shikai)...when he says "bankai" and zangetsu changes size, it is the second release or "bankai".

there r only 2 releases known so far but if more r aquireable that would be kickass!
