So I quit my weekend job yesterday, and this is probably the first saturday night I've had off in a long time, decided to channel surf. While surfing saw "Bleach" as one of the programs just starting and noticed it was on Adult Swim so knew it must be our "Bleach"....it was episode 46 (Momo recalls her training to become a Shinigami) and I have to say, that was the absolute WORST English voice acting I've ever heard!!! How the heck can they even air that crap?! If I'd never seen Bleach in Japanese, I'd probably have never started no matter the story line just because of that absolute horrible voice overs (god but I HATE dubs). Anyone else agree?
Oh yeah, Death Note came on after it and I decided not to watch it for fear of ruining my image of the anime >.<

yea dubs just make anime look bad. adult swim is so way behind on episodes. why wont they air any of the new ones damnit? meh i hardly wach any more tv, its gotten stupid now. only thing i use my tv for is waching movies or playin halo 3.

It takes awhile for them to get the original copies from Japan. |

Lol I didn't mind dragonball z and pokemon. I didn't have problem with those. When I saw japanese version of them I was like WOW their voice is just....

Actually you're right on DB and DBZ...I never saw Dragonball in Japanese w/ subs until DBZ:GT but the dubs for that wasn't all that bad. Not half as bad as the Bleach dubs were.. Death Note is great, thats why I refused to watch the dubbed version because I've already seen the subbed version  |

I hate dubs too but the death note dub is actually really good. The voices are perfect. Id hate to see the movie dubbed though, they would probubly screw it up.

haha they'd screw it up like they did the Blood+ movie w/ dubs that royally sucked. Glad I watched the movie after anime or I would have never seen the normal Jpn/Eng versions. Lets face it though, the ultimate best way to get/watch anime is to be fluent in Japanese and live in Japan  |

dubs suck period. the only time they're moderately acceptable is when u have a crappy quality video and u cant read the subs. also the dubs suck cuz they tend to leave eps out that they think arent good enough. they also take 5x as long to produce the dubs even tho they dont even need to animate anything.

I watch both the dubbed and subber and other then vocic the bleach Dub is not that bad they don;t seem to edit content and since i watch the dubs first the subs only stated sounding bad after I stated watching the dubs mostly because I have grow so used to the jap voices.
Although The last epsoid i saw dubbed left me wondering WTF is the Honour of the Quincy

Dubs:
1. No feeling aka voice inflections
2. If you wanted faster Dubs, you'd think all they have to do is watch a subbed episode and get their script that way, stubborn morons
3. Subs > Dubs any day...if you think visa versa, start watching subs and listen to the dialog then turn around and watch dubs, you'll see what I mean.

I like to watch the "truth" of things, however I've done comparisons of subs and dubs in more than one language and not only the meanings change but tid-bits of the plot change slightly, I'm sure this is due to the censors.
Plus cartoons/anime are viewed as for a younger or less mature audience here in America so it's naturally gonna be altered so that it continues to appear that way. However, Death Note I've noticed that has a more involving story line and requires more active brain cell activity doesn't come across that way. This also includes the concieted and condescending Family Guy and American Dad.
